Days For Girls

In many communities, young girls face a significant barrier to education that often goes unnoticed: the lack of access to menstrual hygiene products. This simple yet critical need can cause girls to miss several days of school each month, disrupting their education and putting them at a disadvantage academically. Missing just a few days of instruction can have long-lasting effects, making it challenging for girls to keep up with assignments, exams, and opportunities for advancement.

Recognizing the profound impact of this issue, Change Your Stars Foundation has taken a proactive stance to ensure that every girl has the ability to attend school regularly. Partnering with Days for Girls Kenya, they are implementing a sustainable solution by providing washable, reusable menstrual health products to young female students in need.

In December 2023, the impact of this initiative was vividly evident as over 300 girls, aged 9 to 16, gathered to receive their Days for Girls kits. Each kit not only contained essential hygiene products but also represented a tangible step towards empowerment and improved educational outcomes for these girls.

The significance of this effort extends beyond the provision of hygiene products—it is about breaking down barriers to education and promoting gender equality. By ensuring that girls have the tools they need to manage their menstrual health with dignity and confidence, Change Your Stars Foundation is fostering a supportive environment where educational dreams can flourish.

The distribution event in December was not just about handing out kits; it was a celebration of empowerment and possibility. The girls were not only equipped with practical resources but also imbued with a sense of agency over their bodies and their futures. Through education and access to menstrual health products, these young girls are being empowered to reclaim their right to education and pursue their dreams without interruption.

As Change Your Stars Foundation continues to champion this cause, the ripple effects of their efforts are felt throughout the community. More girls are staying in school, gaining confidence, and embracing their potential. This holistic approach to menstrual health is not only transforming individual lives but also paving the way for a more equitable and inclusive society where every girl has the opportunity to thrive.
